Puppy bleeding after shots: Is it normal or should I see a vet?

Bite wounds are serious because these can easily result in more trauma than what seems apparent and also in an infection. If there was evidence of blood before, I am concerned that there could have been significant trauma. Hello! I'm sorry to hear that Boss is bleeding. There's a couple of things I'm concerned it could be. Dogs have two anal glands, one on either side of their anus. They can become impacted and abscessed, which sometimes causes a bloody discharge. If this is the case, he may need to have the infection flushed out thoroughly under sedation and take a course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatories. If Boss is experiencing any changes in defecation, such as constipation or diarrhea, this can sometimes irritate the colon and cause bleeding as well. This would be solved by finding the cause of and treating the underlying constipation or diarrhea. Serious problems, such as blood clotting disorders or cancers, are unfortunately possibilities as well. However, I don't think they are very likely due to his young age. I would recommend having Boss seen by a vet. They can do a physical exam and hopefully find an easily fixable problem and make a plan to get him feeling better. I hope this is helpful! Poor Rocky! No, urinating blood is not a normal side effect of vaccinations, so I would definitely recommend taking him back to the vet to have this checked. The vet can do a urinalysis to help determine the problem (possibly a UTI) and get him started on appropriate medication to treat it if needed.

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. This red bump is not related to the vaccination. It looks like some type of insect bite or wound. It is also possible that it could be a hernia or cyst. I think you should have this lump examined by your veterinarian.

If you are unsure of where the bleeding is coming from, I would recommend Taz see his veterinarian for an exam to help determined where the bleeding is occurring so it can be stopped and addressed appropriately.
