Why is my 6-month-old Pitbull bleeding with no visible wound?

Poor Samson! The bleeding may be due to trauma (a fight win another animal) or a skin infection. A skin infection is likely if Samson is scratching causing self trauma. Unfortunately, certain tumors located under or within the skin can bleed as well. If he is scratching, you can get Samson an E-collar or cone until he is seen by a vet, as soon as possible. I am happy to look at photos of Samson to give you a better idea of what can be going on.

It could have been from his nails or paws which may not be easily evident. It could of course be from anywhere else. If you notice where it is coming from (like coming from the urine) or it continues to happen and you cannot find out where it is coming from, I recommend that you have Chico evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment. They could perform a very thorough examination to look for a source of bleeding and perform any diagnostics like a urinalysis if needed. Hopefully this is nothing concerning. Hello, sorry to hear about Tyson. There are a couple of reasons that can cause male dogs to bleed from their penis. Dogs can acquire infections of their prepuce, they can prolapse their urethra, they can have masses on their penis, or they can have paraphimosis. I would recommend having Tyson seen by his veterinarian soon to ensure he is not in pain or in need of medications to treat his condition. In the interim, keep him calm and monitor his bleeding. Any sign of severe bleeding would warrant an immediate visit to the emergency room. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This is possibly due to allergies. A secondary infection is likely and also needs to be addressed. Therapy cannot be recommended without being to evaluate the area and oral antibiotics are likely going to be needed which can only be prescribed by a veterinarian who has seen the patient in person. There are many things that can cause allergies though in most cases they can be broken down into 3 big categories: flea, food and environmental allergies. Allergies are usually worked up in a stepwise fashion starting with flea allergies as this is the easiest and cheapest to take care of. If not on a flea preventative, then it would be a good idea to get started on one. If already on one then it would be a good idea to change to something else (there are many new products out in the market). If not improved in 1-3 months then it is time to move on and check for food allergies by switching to a novel diet (new protein and new carbohydrate). If that does not seem to be the issue then you are left out having to check for environmental allergies which require blood and/or skin tests. Allergies can be very frustrating to deal with at first but so rewarding at the end when we are able to treat them effectively!

It can take up to 12 months or longer for a large breed dog to go into heat for the first time, so Eos may not be mature enough yet. I am concerned that she bled all over your bed two weeks ago and I am curious as to what could cause it, but if it hasn't happened since, maybe she injured herself causing the bleeding. I would wait a bit longer to see if she goes into heat.

Blood in the stool like this could be due to a mild gastritis or colitis (inflammation of the gut from eating something that upset it), or could be the beginning of a more severe gut issue. If Harley is still eating/drinking, and playing normally, the just monitor her stools for signs of more blood. If the blood continues, or if the feces starts looking like jam, then have her into a clinic right away. If Harley is quiet, lethargic, weak, not wanting to eat, or seems painful in her stomach, then have her seen by a vet right away. You can also try feeding her a bland diet of boiled/boneless/skinless chicken breast and boiled rice in small frequent meals for the next couple days, provided she is still bright and happy. This diet will clear up most mild gastritis cases without any need for fluids or medications. Best of luck with Harley!
