Puppy ate plant, vomiting, lethargic, shivering. Is it serious?

If possible, please take Bailey to your local emergency service for an appointment tonight. If this is not an option, you should withhold any water or food overnight, offer him very small amount of water in the morning and take him to your regular vets as soon as they open on Saturday morning.

Yes, you should be worried. He could have eaten something poisonous or possibly ingested something that either irritated his stomach or is causing an obstruction. Please get him to your vet for an exam as soon as you can.

A week long history of diarrhea, weakness and vocalizations in a young puppy are very concerning and i strongly recommend urgent veterinary assessment. Take pictures or samples of the plants in case they may be toxic

Oh my, poor Emma sounds quite ill! She could have gotten into something toxic, may have eaten something rotten, or could have a severe GI illness among other causes. Given that she is very lethargic and cold, she needs to see a vet immediately for treatment. The vet can diagnose what is causing her symptoms, and can treat her for them. She might have a condition called "Parvovirus" which is a very serious virus that affects puppies, and is more likely if Joplin is unvaccinated. The other possible causes in a puppy include an obstruction in her gut (a blockage from a foreign object (ex. ball) that she ate, or an intussusception (the intestines telescoping in on each other). Also, depending on her age, pyometra is possible along with many other conditions. With what you are describing, I am very concerned that she could die without aggressive care. I strongly recommend you get Joplin to a vet right away, and if your vet is closed go to your closest emergency clinic. They will recommend a test of her poop, as well as possible bloodwork and x-rays, and will likely want to keep her in hospital on IV fluids and medications. Yes, it sounds like Wonder is painful (shaking), and not herself due to the vomiting. She may also have a fever which could make her lethargic. She is a young dog so most likely she has a stomach upset from something she ate. If she can't hold anything down you should take her to your veterinarian for treatment. She could have eaten something bad, or have something caught in her stomach or intestines. They will do an exam then most likely blood work and an X-ray if needed to find the specific reason she is sick. Then they can prescribe the appropriate treatment. This is a fairly common reason dogs get sick and usually they improve quickly. Poor Bailey! That is very concerning and I don't think it is something that can be treated without some veterinary care. Please call your vet and have him examined and treated asap, especially since the vomiting and diarrhea is bad and he is shaking. He may be getting dehydrated and in need of fluids. He could have a parasite or an infection and your vet can run lab-work to help determine the cause and then recommend a treatment plan. Hope he feels better soon!
