My puppy ate amoxicillin. Is it an emergency? Should I go to the vet?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Australian Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 30 days old | 25 lbs

My 3 month dog got into a bottle of 500 mg amoxicillin that was bought from Mexico and I’m not sure how many he has eaten do I need to take him to the vet ?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Archie. I do recommend that he sees a veterinarian right away. I would take the prescription bottle with you to show the veterinarian. Vomiting may be induced depending on how many tablets he may have consumed and based on his current weight. I hope this information helps!
