My 50lb dog ate human amoxicillin. Will he be okay or get sick?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | unneutered | 7 months and 8 days old

Hello my dog ted ate two 500 mg amoxicillin human..with in the last hour he weighs about 50 lbs can this harm him

Most likely this amount of amoxicillin is not going to cause Theodore any harm. However any medication can cause GI irritation like vomiting and diarrhea. IF you notice any diarrhea I would recommend trying a bland diet for 12-24 hours of boiled chicken and white rice. If this does not help than Theodore should go see a vet for medications to resolve the GI upset. Hope that helps . thanks for using pet coach

    This is above what would be a recommended dose for Lea if she was on it, but at most, this may cause some GI upset. If you do see vomiting and diarrhea, have her seen by a vet; otherwise, she should be ok.
