How big will my Newfador get? Will it be Lab or Newfoundland size?

Hello and thank you for your question. Congratulations on adding Puppy to your family. You are not finding much information because this is not a breed of dog. This is a mixed bred dog. Mixed bred dogs can exhibit any range of behaviors or traits because they are inheriting these from the purebred parents. That is why you are finding so much variation. Likely this puppy will be at least 50lbs. You will want to feed her a large breed puppy food. She will likely be athletic and active. It's impossible to know her temperament however because huskies and labs tend to be very different. She will likely be somewhere in the middle. Reading about both breeds will better prepare you for owning a mix of the two. While mixed breed dogs tend to avoid the inherited health risks of purebred dogs, they can still have them. She may be prone to the same orthopedic issues that all large breed dogs are susceptible to. Lastly, beware of back yard breeders who are purposefully breeding mixed bred puppies. The USA has a significant problem with pet over population and thousands of healthy mixed breed dogs are euthanized every year in shelters because there are not enough homes. Bruno is a very cute pup! Unfortunately, with a puppy that is a mix of two different breeds, it's quite unpredictable what the puppy may grow up to look like. Being able to predict the adult appearance of the pup is one of the main advantages of choosing a purebred puppy - so with a mix, I'm afraid you'll have to just wait and see! He may look like his dad, his mom, or some mixture of both. Just like human children, you never know until they're grown up. Regardless, he's a very handsome guy. I think he will be a great looking dog, no matter which parent he takes after :)

Maltipoo/lab i seriously doubt it, Chihuahua/lab i can maybe see it. The only way to know for sure if it is a pure breed is to have a DNA test done. many companies offer this service and the process is easy and quite cheap. this is just one example: http://dnamydog.com/

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! He is adorable! He is a mixed breed dog but a predominant breed is hard to guess as he looks very well mixed. I would say that he has some characteristics of a Newfoundland and a Bernese mountain dog. I would say that he is likely to be a medium-sized breed dog to perhaps a bit larger. Good luck!

This is a common question we get from people who want their dog to be very big. The answer is that you should not be trying to make her grow too much too fast. Labradors vary in size depending on their genetics, so I can't give you an exact height that she should be, but she appears at a normal height for five months old.
