Why does my newborn husky have a red pimple-like bump on its face?

It could be a sign of a skin infection, possibly caused by bacteria, yeast, or a fungus (ringworm). It doesn't look too bad in the picture, but I can't really say if it's bad or not without seeing Nash in person. I do think it's worth getting checked out by a vet. It is difficult to say for sure with just a picture but it looks like a pustule. This is common in puppies and is called puppy pyoderma. It will usually heal on its in it occasionally they will get more of them and will need oral antibiotics. Watch it closely and make sure it isn't getting bigger and make sure more aren't coming up. Also make sure she is eating, drinking and playing normally.

Hi there! Yes, puppies can get pimples, and that very well may be what this is. It looks like it's right in the location where his canine tooth rubs on his lip, and if this tooth is new, some irritation may be happening here. It could also be an insect bite, skin parasite, or a localized infection. If it doesn't clear up, gets worse, or appears to be causing Brody any discomfort, I suggest having a vet take a look at it. In the meantime, you can try keeping it clean with a dilute soap and water solution, but Brody may not like it! It looks like a pimple, a minor skin infection. You can use a Benzoyl peroxide topical cream or an antiseptic cream in order to help it resolve quicker, but otherwise it should resolve itself without treatment.

Congratulations on your sweet new puppy! Immature oil glands can cause little pimple-like lesions. These “pimples” can also be due to a small skin infection (pyoderma). Your puppy may have a swelling from trauma, an abscess, infection, or an allergic reaction. It is very difficult to say what is causing the problem without seeing an image. I would suggest leaving it alone for now and see if it changes over the course of the next few hours. If it appears itchy you can give her a single dose of Benadryl at 1mg per pound. If there is no improvement I suggest taking her to the veterinarian.

Hi there and thank you for posting this question. Pimple type growths can be a sign of a skin infection, mites, or even a tick bite reaction. If there is just one area and it improves daily then it is unlikely to be problematic. However, if you are feeling multiple areas, if you see fleas or ticks, or if it is not resolving then I would become more concerned.
