My puppy has a red dome like bump where her whiskers are anything we can do and what is it?

Your puppy may have a swelling from trauma, an abscess, infection, or an allergic reaction. It is very difficult to say what is causing the problem without seeing an image. I would suggest leaving it alone for now and see if it changes over the course of the next few hours. If it appears itchy you can give her a single dose of Benadryl at 1mg per pound. If there is no improvement I suggest taking her to the veterinarian.

These could be irritations to something your puppy is chewing or eating or they could be hives - a reaction to a bug bite or again, something your dog ate or is chewing. It could also be a skin infection. My advice would be to try and give your dog some benadryl (1mg per pound) and see if that helps. I would then try to make and appointment with your vet tomorrow and see if they can check out the bumps to make sure nothing more serious is going on. If it is an allergic reaction you will want to take away whatever is causing it. If it is a skin infection you may need medication to treat it.

It looks like your puppy may have a skin infection. You could bathe him with a dog shampoo, like Epi-Soothe or HyLyt and see if that helps. Otherwise, he should be examined by a vet for treatment. He may need an antibiotic to treat an infection. Your vet can also recommend the best flea/tick medication for him which should be used to prevent fleas and ticks.

This could be an allergic reaction to an insect bite/sting. You can give her half of a 25mg benedryl to see if that helps, but if the bumps do not resolve by the morning or if she starts vomiting, having diarrhea or shows any signs of difficulty breathing you will need to take her to an emergency veterinarian right away.

If the home remedies that you are using are not wokring than she probably needs prescription medications. Talk to your vet about prescribing a corticosteroid (prednisone) which should take the itch away and clear up the red rash. She may also need an antibiotic, if she has a secondary bacterial skin infection. Your veterinarian should be able to tell after he/she examines her skin. Hope she feels better soon!

This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. My puppy has red puffy bites and white bumps. What's going on?

Insect bites can be common in dogs. I worry most about a red and swollen bump showing up suddenly because it could be a hive which is a sign of an allergic reaction or response to something. This tends to cause swelling of the skin around the face and feet and is a sure sign of an allergic reaction. Since Q is still a puppy, we also can commonly see a skin infection, called pyoderma, that tends to arise quickly. If Q is experiencing itchy skin, hair loss or develops more red and swollen bumps, I recommend having him examined by your veterinarian today.

Why is there a red bump on my puppy's bottom lip after chewing?

It may just be a little boil that formed due to a mild infection or even trauma from his tooth. If it isn't bothering him then I would just keep an eye on it for the next 2-7 days to see if it resolves on its own. Most of the time these do. If it doesn't then have your vet take a look to see if treatment is needed.
