My nervous pregnant dog needs x-rays. Is a vet visit safe?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Sadly we can not estimate how far along Snowy is by pictures. Dogs are only pregnant for 60-63 days. By day 28 you can see puppies on ultrasound and by day 50 you can see them on X-ray. I have personally never seen a dog miscarry from stress. If she doesn't give birth by 70 days from when you got your dog neutered you need to bring her to the Vet to confirm pregnancy or whether she is experiencing a false pregnancy. I recommend avoiding anything which could cause ger stress and would not bathe her if she normally dislikes it. If you do wash her br sure to keep her warm until fully dry but do not overheat her with hot dryers. It is useful to keep the coat very short especially along the belly and back legs for delivery and feeding pups

That would depend on the underlying cause of it. If it is due to an upper respiratory tract infection/inflammation antibiotics may be given without problems/side effects for the pups. It is likely that it did not hurt the puppies, as if it had, she likely would have aborted them by now. Playing with another dog also is not the type of stress that would hurt a pregnancy. Let her play and be happy. This would be the best environment for her. She does need a place where she can retire to so that the other dogs do not pester her when she would like to be left alone. Tell the children not to play footbal near the dogs.

I would strongly suggest to keep her monitored during pregnancy as c-section may be needed to deliver the puppies. Radiographs at 40 days of pregnancy will be very useful to assess the size of the puppies and make sure they can be naturally delivered.
