Can I use a natural flea collar on my 6-week-old puppy with fleas?

Flea collars do not work very well and some are toxic if ingested. I don't recommend using them on puppies, in case it falls off and the puppy tries to eat the collar. I recommend using a monthky product, like NexGard, Frontline, Advantage, or Revolution. You will also need to treat your house with an appropriate flea product.

Yes, it can be used on puppies six weeks of age and older, but I do not recommend using it. For one, Hartz products are not very good quality, do not work well, and there have been many reports of adverse effects from use on puppies and dogs. Plus, flea collars do not work well to prevent fleas. I personally recommend using a spot on treatment such as Advantage or Revolution. Revolution can be used on puppies 6 weeks of age and older, and there is no minimum weight requirement. You could bathe the puppies with a medicated dog shampoo, like Epi-soothe, before applying the revolution. If the scabs persist than they should be examined by a vet for treatment. The puppies may also need an antibiotic, anti-histamine, and/or corticosteroid depending on the severity of the scabs.

Most flea and tick medications should not be used until 6-8 weeks of age and will say the age on the package. If you are having a flea problem I recommend using a flea comb to comb out any fleas. I dip it into a bowl of water with a drop or two of Dawn dishwashing soap. This will kill the fleas. As far as ticks go again I would just check Princess over daily and remove any you see with tweezers. I recommend to see your veterinarian for medication called Revolution. While any pecan have a reaction to anything, Revolution seems to be very safe for very small and very young pets. You will need to treat her for 6 months. I hope this helps.
