Miniature Schnauzer has bumps and a tick. What's wrong with his skin?

This is likely a benign skin mass and likely what we call a sebaceous adenoma. These are benign and develop in older animals. Of course it is impossible to say for sure just by looking at it. You would need to have this removed and sent for testing to confirm what it is. However, with the thousands of sebaceous adenomas I've seen, there is a really good chance that is what you are seeing. I typically remove these during another procedure such as a dental cleaning since the animal will already be under anesthesia. If there are no upcoming procedures that need to be done, then monitoring these is just fine. Removal of these when they break open or become infected is generally recommended or when they bother the animal.

I'm sorry Willow is having a rough time. Schnauzers are prone to a variety of skin disorders. She may need more diagnostics, even allergy testing to determine what is making her scratch so much. Be sure that she is on appropriate flea and tick control and keep her from voting or scratching the open areas. Sometimes this may require an ecollar. But it if she has open sores she needs to see the vet for appropriate medication. Depending on what your vet can do for her, you may want to discuss referral to a veterinary dermatologist to get her skin condition under control.

This looks like a bacterial skin infection. It is not very likely to be related to the tick issue. Sometimes a medicated shampoo bath helps clear this up but other times oral antibiotics are needed. If this is not gotten better in the next 1 to 2 days I would contact your veterinarian to discuss antibiotics for Opie.

This looks like it can be a skin infection. I would recommend taking Blue to a veterinarian to have them evaluate her skin. She will most likely need antibiotics and medication to help with the itch. It is not uncommon for that breed to be sensitive to allergies. This can include food, parasites such as fleas, or the environment. Pus is a sign there is an infection but the skin does not seem red or inflamed from your picture. The best thing to do is give her bath and make sure she is on a flea prevention to rule out that allergy. If there is still problems, then your vet can go over treatment options for environmental allergens to prevent this

This looks like it could be an insect bite or sting, or a tick bite if they are in your area. Skin infections can also occasionally start this way. If you start to see more lesions similar to the one above, or if this bump begins to increase in size or have any discharge I would recommend having it examined by your veterinarian. Other possibilities include other tumors such as mast cell tumor, inflammatory nodule due to a ringworm infection (fungal disease), a granuloma due to a foreign body, and more. An exam by your vet is needed to help determine the cause. This may involve a needle aspirate of the swelling to collect cells to aid in identification.
