Lost dog shot records for training? How to get them from Petco?

How lovely of you to take in Belle! This site is affiliated with Petco, but we are here for answering questions about pet health. If you want her shot records, you will need to have your friend call the Petco where they were done, and they can provide them for you. Hello. I’m sorry but this is just a question and answer forum to give basic medical advice. We are not connected with individual PetCo stores or clinics. If you need proof of vaccination, you should contact the clinic that saw your pet directly. They may have sent information about each visit that your puppy has been to at the clinic to your email. If you need documentation- visit the clinic that examined and vaccinated your puppy. Thank you

We are a website for pet advice, so we cannot access records at Petco stores. You will need to call that Petco to see if you can get the records, but they may not release them to you because you weren't the owner when Hachi was originally brought it. Any reputable breeder would provide the papers proving that vaccines were given, and the fact that the breeder is refusing to give them to you make me suspicious he never got any vaccines. I would treat it like this second shot is his first shot, and do three total rounds of vaccines. It will not hurt him, and you don't want to take the risk that he didn't get his first shot, so only giving him two will not leave him fully vaccinated. I hope this helps!

Hi Sayra, Unless Dylan received his vaccinations at one of our VETCO clinics we cannot give you any records. The records must come from the veterinarian/veterinary clinic that administered the vaccinations. If you need proof of his vaccinations but you cannot get the records, unfortunately you will have to have him vaccinated again. If you have him vaccinated at a VETCO clinic the records will be available indefinitely so you don't have to worry about every losing them. Hope this helps. Yes this is very important when transferring doctors. Your vet can either print the records for you to pick up or they can email them to your new clinic. Just ask the vetco you will be using which they prefer. That way the new doctor will know what to recommend for your pet at the visit. You can keep a record of the vaccine yourself. Remove the sticker from the vial and place it, along with the date given, on a chart. You may even be able to find a vaccine record online or in the local Petco.
