We are a website for pet advice, so we cannot access records at Petco stores. You will need to call that Petco to see if you can get the records, but they may not release them to you because you weren't the owner when Hachi was originally brought it. Any reputable breeder would provide the papers proving that vaccines were given, and the fact that the breeder is refusing to give them to you make me suspicious he never got any vaccines. I would treat it like this second shot is his first shot, and do three total rounds of vaccines. It will not hurt him, and you don't want to take the risk that he didn't get his first shot, so only giving him two will not leave him fully vaccinated. I hope this helps!

In most cases, you'll need owner permission in order for records to be transferred over, so while you can contact the vet, you may not be able to obtain full records. That said, they may at least be able to confirm neuter/vaccine status for you so you can let your vet know. If you can't get any records, you can also have your current vet perform a titer test to see where Wooly's immunity levels are, and then booster vaccines from there.

If you need proof of vaccination, you should contact the clinic that saw your pet directly. They may have sent information about each visit that your puppy has been to at the clinic to your email. She also needs a rabies shot and that has to be given by a licensed veterinarian or licensed technician. Vaccines given by your vet are tracked, handled and stored properly, and the manufacturer will stand behind the product if there is an adverse reaction or event. The problem with just buying the vaccine from a feed store or catalog raises the questions of shipping, storage conditions, quality of the product, and lack of back up from the manufacturer if something did happen.
