I'm choosing dog food: Is Iams or Royal Canin better for my dog?

I am so glad to help you! In my opinion, the best choice is a commercial kibble like Royal Canin. Royal Canin does have veterinary nutritionists on staff. I'd also recommend Hill's Science Diet, Purina Pro Plan, and Iams. They also have veterinary nutritionists. I personally feed my dog Iams.

I've always had the best luck with Royal Canin and Science Diet. Not familiar with Earthborn, but that does not mean it isn't a good food choice. I have the most experience with Royal Canin between the two so I would recommend going with this brand. If Soska has problems on Royal Canin, then transition to a different food such as Earthborn. As long as it is a name brand food with an AAFCO label on it. This means it has been tested and meets specific standards. Typically royal canin, Purina, science diet, and Iams qualify for this. Be careful switching foods without suddenly as this can cause diarrhea. It is best to mix them and gradually switch it over a week

It has been around for a very long time, and the company performs a large amount of testing to confirm that the food has the appropriate levels of nutrients. The weight control diet likely has a larger amount of fiber in it to keep Chloe satisfied longer. To help Chloe lose weight, you can also cut down the treats and replace with things like ice cubes, string beans, or baby carrots in small amounts. I hope this helps!

Hello, both dog foods are good brands. It may be a difference in ingredients and quality of ingredients which fits better for Chloe. Both formulas are made to meet the AAFCO standards and regulations for pet food, meaning they are both balanced and will provide adequate nutritional support for Chloe. The difference in these two foods mainly has to do with price and brand. Natural Balance is still considered a good brand of food and one of the most used and well known brands of commercial dog food. Chloe can have Natural Balance if she does better on it.
