My 4-month-old Great Dane puppy suddenly won't eat. What to do?

Other possibilities include intestinal worms and dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. The sooner these conditions are treated the better the outcome tends to be. For this reason, I recommend that you have Rosie evaluated by your veterinarian to check for these possibilities and to start therapy based on findings. I suggest a vet check up for Mia. The diarrhea and vomitting may be due to dietary indiscretions, parasites or viral. Even though she has received preventative care, parasites or infection such as parvo or corona is still possible.

It sounds as Thandi is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

He could be experiencing inappetence due to conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Enzo evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment if this does not improve in the next 24 hours. Maya could be eating too fast, you may want to try a slow feeder to see if that helps. If it's not improving I would have Maya evaluated by your veterinarian to make sure she doesn't have any congenital or developmental issues that would be causing the vomiting. You can also try to distinguish if she's vomiting versus regurgitating. Vomiting required abdominal effort (like retching or dry heaving), while regurgitation does not.

This sounds like he’s in pain. He could have back pain from a bulging intervertebral disc, or be constipated, or have hip pain. This sounds serious so I recommend a veterinary exam soon. With bloat they look bloated and they go from fine to very distressed in a few hours and then it’s life threatening. If this has been going on longer without a swollen abdomen then bloat is less likely. Regardless, he’s in pain and needs veterinary care. I recommend taking her to the vet with a fresh stool sample to rule out intestinal parasites first. She may also need X-rays to rule out an obstruction. I would stop feeding her the human foods as she is likely to hold out for those vs eating her puppy food diet. You can try adding canned puppy food to her dry food to get her more intested. As long as there are no health concerns she will eat when she's hungry. Right now, you are caving to her before she caves and eats and is therefore promoting a picky behavior.
