Which Goldendoodle typically grows bigger: Miniature or Toy?

I would be concerned that this weight difference might result in puppies that are too large for Bella and that she could end up needing a c-section. She could also end up having fewer, larger puppies. I think you’re better off searching for a smaller male.

Some dogs dog naturally favor sitting on one hip or the other. It can also indicate a problem with the hip so it is very important to watch for any signs of lameness. Poodles are classified as toy or miniature by the adult weight and the two can be interbred. That means you can guess how big he will be based on the size of his parents but you won't know until he is full grown. Louie will be full grown around 8-10 months of age most likely. Poodle weights- 4-6 pounds (toy) 10-15 pounds (miniature) This question is really hard to answer without watching and tracking Gypsy's growth and without seeing her parents and knowing what their weights were. Toy and mini poodles mature at one year of age so the next 5 1/2 months will answer your question. Her body frame may enlarge or she may just gain a little more weight. It's hard to say. Good luck

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This looks like a Beautiful Golden Retriever puppy. He would be expected to grow as large as a Golden Retriever so in between 65-75 pounds and his haircoat should be the same as any other Golden Retriever. Best of luck!

That really depends on which genes are expressed and the individual line of genetics. I would expect the size would average between both breeds. I recommend speaking to the person from whom you are getting this dog, and ask them the average size of their adult dogs, which would then give you a good idea of the size to expect when your dog is fully grown.

Both Golden Retrievers and poodles were originally bred to be hunting dogs and like to chase and hunt. In my opinion, Golden Retrievers tend to be more easily excited. Fortunately both breeds are usually 'easy' to train, so if these behaviors are undesirable you might be able to curb them with some basic obedience training.

Golden retrievers love to play fetch, and have fantastic demeanours. If you are very interested to know the exact heritage there are blood tests your vet can run to tell you the genetics of your dog and exactly what breed it is! Or if you have a picture to share I can try to help as well. But from the behaviours you are describing it sounds like you have a dog with a fantastic personality!
