Why is my 14-week French bulldog puppy pooping 6-7 times daily?

This is likely due to a higher fiber content in the newer food. Defecating this much will not cause any problems but if you would like to reduce the frequency at which Daphne is going to the bathroom, I would recommend switching to a different food such as Science Diet and see if this helps. I would recommend stopping mixing hot water with her food, this isn't good at all, and i also recommend feeding the same amount but divide it to 3 times a day instead of 2- until the age of 6 months.

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Buzoo is adorable! Puppies do defecated a little more frequently than adult dogs, typically up to 4-5 times in a day. Sometimes puppies will defecate more frequently if they are excited. I recommend keeping a close eye on Buzoo's bowel movements - he should be seen by a vet if you notice that the stool is loose, has mucus or blood in it, or begins vomiting. I would bring a fresh stool sample with you so the vet can check for microscopic parasites. There are many different types of parasites that can cause diarrhea and there is no one medication to treat them all. They may also want to test Lieo for parvovirus as this is common in young puppies and causes vomiting and diarrhea. Either way, Lieo needs medical treatment to prevent further fluid loss which will lead to dehydration. Once they have a cause they can get him medications to help him recover. Frequent bowel movements are not necessarily abnormal. They should have a firm consistency, and not be like diarrhea. I would recommend that you have him on a large breed puppy food to help support his rapidly growing bones. You can try a different brand of food and see if that helps decrease the stool frequency.

Yes it is likely the extra fiber. No worries here whatsoever. Some puppies do poop quite a bit and 2-3 times a day is normal as long as the poop is solid. I would however, but back on the daily egg, since this is mostly just added carbs for pets and can lead to her getting overweight. Best wishes with your puppy Tasha. Take care.

Puppies do have more bowel movements than adult dogs. Most adult dogs typically have two to three movements a day but this is very much impacted by their food. The brand Royal Canin is low residue in all of their diets and typically has low stool production and maintains a very high-quality.
