French Bulldog diarrhea, low energy, vet found nothing. What to do?

There are still many diseases that could cause blood in the stool that haven’t been completely ruled out. The next steps might be an abdominal ultrasound to evaluate the colon and even endoscopy tonlook for polyps in the rectum or colon and obtain biopsies to rule out inflammatory bowel disease. It’s also possible that Madeleine has not had enough time to respond to the hypoallergenic diet trial. I would recheck with your vet and ask about referral to an internal medicine specialist if you want to discuss more in depth testing.

If you have not done a good trial already, I would recommend a diet such as Royal Canin Ultamino and feed this for at least 4 weeks and see if this makes a differencr. If after the diet trial there is no difference, I would recommend adding in a probiotic such as Purina fortiflora which can be found online or at your local pet store. If the diarrhea is still there, I would recommend an abdominal ultrasound. If this is inflammatory bowel disease, Bonnie may need to be on drugs such as Budesonide and Azathioprine. It sounds as Albert is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an antibiotic course and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

If your dog was having frequent diarrhea it is possible the intestinal tract was emptied out by this episode and there isn't much in the colon to actually poop out right now. If he is eating and drinking and energetic, I don't think this is an emergency situation, but I would continue to monitor Lou, and if he is still eating and doesn't start having bowel movements in the next 24 hours, or starts straining, becoming lethargic, vomiting or having diarrhea again, an exam is needed.

I recommend to have your pup examined by the veterinarian today. Continued vomiting is concerning for something like an intestinal blockage although many potential causes are possible. It’s best to play it safe and not wait this one out. Best of luck.

Poor Yoda! This diarrhea could be due to intestinal worms, eating something rotten, GI illness, pancreatitis, or a foreign body. Typically if a dog has been having diarrhea for less than 24 hours, a home remedy can be tried, but given that Yoda has been having diarrhea for three to four days, it's time to see a vet. The vet can diagnose what is causing the diarrhea, and can treat him for it. I would have him seen by a vet first thing in the morning.

These signs are extremely concerning and more investigations are essential to determine the origin of them and understand what type of treatment is required. Abdominal ultrasound and urine analysis would be needed. I would strongly recommend to discuss these options with your local veterinarian.
