What should I feed my new 2-month-old puppy for healthy growth?

Puppies, unlike adults, need a higher amount of calcium and other minerals in their diet for their growing bones. Hello. At this age, a puppy should be fed 3 times a day with limited treats. You can transition him to twice a day feedings somewhere between 16 - 20 weeks of age. As long as the food you choose is a well-balanced puppy food, such as Science Diet, Royal Canin or Purina, you can continue to feed Roman the canned, or a combination of canned & dry. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Any of the following brands can be fed so long as it is puppy food for small dogs. The food needs to be slowly transition over 7-10 days introducing the new food in about 20% increment every other day. For detail, contact your veterinarian on how to transition the food. Recommended brands are Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina Pro Plan, and Iams. Choose one, and stick with it until about one year of age. After that, transition to an adult formula for small breeds from the same brand. Void feeding anything other than the dogs food and a few treats made specifically for dogs. Hopes this helps!

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Browny can eat any dog food diet that is formulated for puppies/growth, and ideally for large-breed dogs. Highly recommended brands include Royal Canin, Purina, and Hills, but other well known companies such as Pedigree are also appropriate. As long as the diet is not vegan, vegetarian or grain free, any puppy dog food diet should be OK. The dog food bag should have a feeding chart on it that outlines how much food Browny should be fed with each meal, based on her weight. I hope this is helpful!

I would choose a puppy formula in small bite size for Kylie. Make sure to mix her old food in with the new food over a couple of days so you don’t upset her tummy. Great question! At almost two months of age, Ooge is old enough to be fed a puppy formulated food. It has to be a puppy formulated food because puppies require higher amounts of protein, calcium, and calories than an adult dog. A puppy food will provide everything he needs to grow properly. Brands I recommend include Royal Canin, Hill's Science diet, Purina ProPlan, and Iams. On the bag, there is a daily recommended amount of food, and I would divide that into three equal portions to feed him three times a day, once in the morning, noon, and evening. Once he turns six months old, he can be fed twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. I hope this helps :-)

I personally prefer the Purina Pro Plan shredded blends for puppies as they are generally inexpensive, are of great quality and dogs seems to love it. For the amount to feed her, I advice you follow the guidelines that you will find in the back of the bag. Keep in mind that you should get the puppy blend. Also, keep in mind that as she grows, you will notice in the back of the bag that it will advice you feed her more. When she becomes a year old, she should be switched to an adult diet.
