Prepare the PetLac according to the directions on the label. Pour that into the puppy food and soak until it is soft, then mix it up so your puppy can eat it easily. Ideally, a puppy should stay with the mother and litter until at least 8 weeks of age. Since your pup is so young, you will need to keep a close watch on her weight and condition. Weigh her daily to confirm weight gain. Keep her warm and dry. Have her examined by your veterinarian to confirm good health. She will need to be dewormed and you can discuss vaccines with the vet. Puppies are usually weaned off of Mom around this age so yes he can survive just fine. He should be eating puppy food since he likely has all his puppy teeth, just double check since some pets are late bloomers. I would suggest a high quality dog food such as Hill’s Science Diet, Royal Canin, or Natural Balance. You should feed him three times a day and the amount of food fed should be based off of the guidelines right on the bag of the brand you choose. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Maggies is very cute! I think that 4 weeks is too young to be taken from the mother and siblings. At this stage I would mix puppy formula with canned puppy food. If she won't eat that then you can mix the cerelac in with the canned puppy food but I personally do not like animals eating human dairy foods. Gradually over the next week or so add less and less puppy formula and more canned puppy food. Then around 5-6 weeks add moistened dry food. Hopefully by 7 weeks she will be eating all canned or dry puppy food. Good luck!

No, I don't recommend that at all. A one month of age, he is old enough to be weaned onto puppy food. To help Rudy wean and to get used to dry food, I would soak a high quality puppy formulated dry food in warm water until soft. Then mix that with puppy formula such as KMR to make a mush the consistency of oatmeal. Over the next two weeks, gradually increase the amount of dry puppy food and decrease the amount of water and KMR you use until he is eating the dry puppy food only.
