Why are both my dogs sneezing? What should I do if they're sick?

Poor guy. It sounds like at the very least Ziggy has an upper airway infection. I would recommend taking him to your vet to get him examined today if possible. If he does have an infection, then a short course of antibiotics prescribed by your vet generally is enough to resolve the issue. It’s definitely possible that the dogs are passing along a virus or bacteria. It’s also possible that the air quality inside the house is dry and circulating a lot of dust particles which can cause irritation to the lining of the nose. Monitor both dogs for progression of respiratory signs, decreased energy levels or not eating well. You can also use a humidifier and an air filter in the areas where they hang out most to improve air quality. Adding omega 3 fatty acids for dogs can also help. Sneezing that is apparently contagious is likely caused by some sort of upper respiratory or lower respiratory infection. Sometimes these ailments require antibiotics to resolve. I would consider bringing both of them into the veterinarian to have them looked over and treated if necessary. While she could be experiencing allergies as they are common this time of year, a respiratory tract infection is also possible. Given how frequently her symptoms are occurring, I worry that she does have an infection. If so, she may need an antibiotic. In the meantime, you can place her the bathroom while you shower. The warm humid air can help lessen any congestion she may have. I hope this information helps!

What a cutie pie! I would try putting a humidifier in the room with him overnight or putting him in the bathroom while you run a steamy shower for 10-15 minutes to provide some beneficial moisture to his airways. If he develops discharge from the nose, coughing, eye discharge, decreased appetite, decreased energy these would be reasons to seek veterinary care. You can ask your vet if it would be ok to give him an antihistamine such as Benadryl or Zyrtec to see if it could be allergy related as well. We do use these drugs in dogs, but I always recommend checking with your vet before starting any new medication.

The coughing and sneezing, especially if accompanied by nasal discharge can be caused by an upper respiratory infection or even pneumonia. These conditions require a veterinary exam and potentially bloodwork and x-rays to diagnose and treat. I recommend having Trigo seen by a vet as soon as possible. I'd recommend having Gigi examined by a vet - this sounds like extreme sneezing. There might be a foreign object stuck in her nose. If she has also had nasal discharge then an infection, growth, or even a tooth root abscess could be causing the sneezing.
