My dog has a cough, runny nose, and is vomiting. What should I do?

I'm wondering if she actually has a productive cough - a cough can sound very similar to attempted vomiting in a dog and they will often retch at the end and produce a small amount of white foam. This would go along with the runny nose that you're seeing. You should see your vet - this could be a sign of an upper respiratory infection, an infection like kennel cough, or even pneumonia. Even if she has not been around other dogs and she is the only one showing symptoms at this point an infection is still possible.

If the cough is due to a respiratory infection (such as kennel cough), the cough will often times be productive and they may hack up phlegm which can sound like vomiting. If his nose is running as well and he is sneezing this could indicate a respiratory infection. If he recently swallowed a bone whole, it is possible he may have part of it stuck in the esophagus. It is hard to say for sure without examining Milo. Ultimately, Milo will need an exam by a veterinarian soon to determine what the cause of the cough is so he can be treated appropriately. It sounds like Zoey may have an upper respiratory infection such as kennel cough. This is a very contagious disease and she may have picked it up while walking outside, or when sniffing another dog. This is usually a self-limiting disease and will go away by itself within 4 weeks.
