Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Female | unspayed | 3 years and 3 months old | 5 lbs
My 4lb yorkie Is showing signs of a reoccurring infection in her lungs her first one was due to a virus in her lungs the vet Suspected pneumonia. Now it’s months later and she suffering from a sinus infection. Liquid zithromax & 100mg capsual doxycycline on hand which one do you recommend?

Hello. Zithromax may be appropriate, but Toodle may not have a bacterial infection, so antibiotics may not be appropriate. She may have a viral infection, or most likely suffer from some type of chronic bronchitis that often responds very well to Doxycycline & steroids. I also would not throw all those cough medicines & antihistamines at her as this can be quite dangerous. Antihistamines can affect blood pressure, & also dry out the mucous membranes so bad as to make her symptoms worse. The honey is fine as it can soothe an irritated throat. I would get her into a hot steamy room & see if this helps after 10 minutes or so 2-3 times a day. Otherwise, please look into some of the payment options such as CareCredit or Scratchpay so you can have your pet seen & properly treated.
