My dog has yellow urine and low appetite. What tests and treatments?

This is a quite generic but concerning sign. Differentials are many, from gastrointestinal diseases (infection/inflammations often dietary related) to any disease that can spread systemically (causing lethargy for example) like infection. Urine could be more concentrated than normal (given the inappetence and the diarrhoea causing mild dehydration). The approach must be logic, starting from offering different kind of food (a bland diet would be best- boiled chicken and rice). A check up is needed if inappetence last for more than 24hours. A single value alone without any other information/references doesn't really mean much. That said, if the home test showed any abnormalities, I would definitely bring it up with your vet. They may want to retest urine in-house with a UA, or suggest additional testing such as bloodwork that may pick up any other minute changes ongoing. If the value is abnormal enough, or other values also show as abnormal, your vet can then prescribe any treatment as needed for overall body health and support.

This could indicate that something is wrong with Roxy. Her urine is so yellow likely because she is not drinking much water. I would recommend having her seen by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I would have her blood tested and her urine as well. Poor Kiko! Jaundice is usually by either liver dysfunction or destruction of red blood cells. The doctor will run some blood work to determine which is present and then determine appropriate treatment. You are doing the right thing by having her seen quickly. It looks like you shared urinalysis results. Was bloodwork run as well? If this is a urine test there appears to be a large amount of bilirubin in the urine which is very abnormal. If bloodwork has not been done it needs to be right away. There are several causes for the abnormalities on your kids urinalysis and for weight loss. Bloodwork helps rule in/out many problems. The next step will then likely be some imaging (xrays, ultrasound). Your kid is young, it is important to run more tests to get to the bottom of the weight loss/poor appetite. Hello, sorry to hear about Yoda. Potential causes of this could include a severe UTI, liver disease, autoimmune disease, or kidney disease. It sounds like she should be seen by her veterinarian immediately to obtain some bloodwork and urine to rule these diseases out. The not eating is a little concerning and I would recommend a vet visit soon for your dog. Causes of decreased appetite in dogs may be due to a tooth issue, pancreatitis, gastritis, or perhaps an infectious cause. A veterinary visit can be rule out some of the above causes and will help pinpoint a diagnosis so he can get treated appropriately. I hope this helps and thanks again for posting!
