My small dog has yellow, slimy diarrhea and vomiting. Should I worry?

This is not specific to any disease, but indicates that something is either directly upsetting their stomachs, or generally making them feel nauseous. The yellow color is due to bile staining which doesn't tell much other than they are vomiting on an empty stomach. One possibility is that they ate something they were not supposed to like medication, a chemical (i.e. antifreeze), raw meat, or a plant (i.e. lilies). It sounds as Suki is suffering from a severe gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting ingestion, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

He could have an infection or a parasite causing the vomiting and diarrhea. He should be examined by a vet for treatment. Your vet can test a fecal sample to determine if he has a parasite and then prescribe medications to help treat the problem.

One of the most common causes of diarrhea in puppies is intestinal parasites such as roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms, as well as Coccidia and Giardia. We don't normally see the parasites with the naked eye, so tests in the vet clinic must be done to test for the parasites. If your puppy becomes lethargic, starts vomiting, or has bloody diarrhea these can be signs of a virus called Parvovirus and the puppy should be seen by the vet right away.
