My dog has diarrhea, is vomiting yellow foam. Should I see a vet?

He could have an infection or a parasite causing the vomiting and diarrhea. He should be examined by a vet for treatment. Your vet can test a fecal sample to determine if he has a parasite and then prescribe medications to help treat the problem.

Vomiting can be observed with conditions such as gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, gastrointestinal foreign body ingestion and obstruction, among other possibilities. For this reason, I highly recommend that you have Diesel evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as soon as possible as I am afraid he is likely becoming dehydrated. They would be able to check for these possibilities and also check his hydration status and give him medications to make him feel better. Good luck!

I would seek out veterinary attention. It is hard to say what could ve wrong, but with small dogs, being sick like this for any length of time can be dangerous. They dont have much (in terms of body weight and resources) to sustain them. If they get sick, they get dehydrated very quickly and it can turn dangerous quickly. Best to have a vet look at them and figure out what is going on.

If your pet has vomited this much in the past 45 minutes I would be very suspicious of a foreign body or a very intense dietary indiscretion (eating something he shouldn't have). I would recommend you start supportive care (like Famotiidne 05-1.0mg/kg every 12 hrs and a bland diet like Purina EN Gastrointestinal canned food OR boiled plain chicken and rice or cottage cheese. However there is a big possibility that this could have been a toxicity and if any more symptoms start to arise (such as ataxia (staggering) or shaking, crying out) then I highly recommend you seek a personal veterinarian for a physical examination and further diagnostics. - Dr. H

Poor guy. It sounds like Indiana has a severe stomach upset. Yellow vomit is bile, which indicates he has an empty stomach and can't vomit anything else up. It also sounds like he is lethargic, which means that it is best to get him to your vet for treatment. Hopefully he just ate something that upset his stomach, because many underlying illnesses can cause GI (gastrointestinal) symptoms like these. The vet should be able to do a good physical exam and get his vitals to determine if there is likely something else underlying going on here or not. Yes, i do think that Duffy needs to see the vet. Young dogs with gastrointestinal signs can have a number of problems of varying severity - anything from intestinal parasites to the very serious GI infection parvovirus to a foreign object lodged in the GI tract. She's been vomiting nearly 24 hours and by this point has likely lost considerable fluids and electrolytes, so yes, I would get her in today and get the problem diagnosed and treated appropriately.
