My dog is wobbling, twitching, and walking strangely. Is he poisoned?

Poor Shaggy. It sounds like it could be a few possible things. A toxin? Got in to a medication? Marijuana? Low blood sugar? Some other neurologic condition. Hard to say. But this could be serious. With these signs I recommend going to the ER. Also check all over the house for anything Shaggy could have gotten in to!

While staggering and walking into things may be a sign of toxicity, it may also be contributed to other causes: neurological dysfunction, cardiopulmonary issues, dementia, or vision impairment. It is very hard to tell sight unseen without examining Mugsy to say for sure what is causing his symptoms, however I would strongly encourage you to visit your veterinarian as soon as possible for a full work up.

A condition called Coonhound paralysis (Polyradiculoneuritis) is a very likely possibility here or even a toxin ingestion that affects the nervous system. Coonhound paralysis is a nervous system disease that causes these types of symptoms (rear limb ataxia). It can be caused by eating raw chicken, recent vaccination, exposure to a raccoon, or even an immune medicated disease. I would highly recommend taking Banjo to your local vet right away to get him looked at. An ER vet visit is certainly warranted here if your regular vet is not currently open so that he can get seen quickly and testing done. If this is indeed this condition, there is no specific treatment, but he has a good chance of spontaneously improvement over several weeks. I do hope that Banjo's condition improves soon! These are concerning signs of a possible intoxication. Immediate check up is required to treat the signs and reduce as much as possible absorption. Metaldehyde (used in snail poison) and intoxication from a long list of other substances can cause these signs. I am afraid it is impossible to be more specific than that.
