My dog is weak and peeing blood after vaccination. Is this normal?

Poor Rocky! No, urinating blood is not a normal side effect of vaccinations, so I would definitely recommend taking him back to the vet to have this checked. The vet can do a urinalysis to help determine the problem (possibly a UTI) and get him started on appropriate medication to treat it if needed.

Bloody stool and lethargy could be an adverse reaction to the vaccination. I recommend taking your puppy in to the veterinarian asap due to the high probability that he is having a severe reaction and needs immediate treatment to help stabilize his condition. It could have been from his nails or paws which may not be easily evident. It could of course be from anywhere else. If you notice where it is coming from (like coming from the urine) or it continues to happen and you cannot find out where it is coming from, I recommend that you have Chico evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment. They could perform a very thorough examination to look for a source of bleeding and perform any diagnostics like a urinalysis if needed. Hopefully this is nothing concerning. This side effect is more common with the rabies vaccine than other vaccine, in most cases it resolves within 24-48 hours, as long as she is eating and walking she is fine to stay at home and just wait for it to get better soon.

Urinating blood can indicating a bladder infection or something potentially life threatening like a clotting disorder. The fact that he is also committing indicates systemic illness. I am so sorry but it sounds like your pet is having a moderate vaccine reaction. I would highly recommend taking her to an ER vet right away to have your puppy Bella evaluated and treated for a vaccine reaction. They will likely do steroids and anthistamine injection to help stabilize her condition. I really hope that your fur baby Bella is able to make a full and speedy recovery. She may be having a reaction to Rabies, so it is important to have her get pre-meds (from your vet) before her next yearly to help prevent this in the future. Best wishes and take care!
