My dog is weak, can't stand, eat, or swallow. Could it be a bee sting?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

(About this consultation) My dog is having a hard time standing up and if so, she stands shakily and walks like a drunk man. She can't lift her head that well ang her mouth is always open. Her tongue is like falling and she has a hard time eating foods. She can drink but she can't chew that well./// She also had a hard time swallowing and there was a time, before this, I think she was bitten by a bee in her mouth. Could this be the reason?

Dogs can be allergic to bees and stings will swell. It could be possible that she was stung by a bee, but my answer is still the same, she needs emergency veterinary care now. Swelling from bee stings in the mouth can and do cause the airways to be blocked off, leading to respiratory distress and death. She sounds very ill, and if there was anything you could do at home for her, I would tell you. There honestly isn't, she needs to see a vet right away.
