My Yorkie vomited white foam and is tired. Should I go to the vet?

Small breed puppies can have a hard time regulating their blood sugar and temperature and can get sick quickly. Causes of vomiting are: intestinal parasites, viral infections (like parvo), foreign body ingestion (something is stuck and requires surgery to remove), pancreatitis, toxin ingestion, ingested something that is upsetting her stomach, food allergies or intolerance. If Charlie is vomiting while being fasted he should be seen today on Emergency. You can with hold water for 4-6 hours and food until monday am. Offer water after 4-6 hours as ice chips and as small amounts. If there is no further vomiting by the morning then offer a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice. Feed 1 cup per 20 lbs per day. Feed as small frequent meals. If Charlie continues to vomit while fasted, after water or food is reintroduced or will not eat he needs to see a Vet. Hi, sorry to hear your puppy is sick. Vomiting once does not concern me. Since she is a puppy, she may have gotten into something she's not supposed to and has an upset stomach. I would give her a pill of pepcid or Famotidine then fast her with no food or water for 6-8 hours. Then start with some water. If she keeps that down, feed her some boiled chicken and rice instead of her own food and no treats either. Feed her this for 2-3 days to settle her stomach. if at time time she continues to vomit or is also having diarrhea, he will need to see a vet. Puppies can get dehydrated quickly and should get tested for the serious disease called parvovirus if she is having vomiting or diarrhea. Good luck, i hope Jessi feels better!

Hi and thanks for posting. Aww I'm sorry to hear Yankee isn't feeling very well today. I would recommend withholding food from him until tomorrow morning ( he can have water). It sounds as Schafer is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.
