Dog threw up undigested kibble from new food bag. What to do?

If she did not eat the plastic baggie then she should probably be fine. Her symptoms should be self-limiting (meaning they should resolve on their own in 24-36 hours). If she actually ingested the baggie then I would be a bit concerned that it is causing an obstruction. If she ate the baggie, I think a vet visit is in order. The diarrhea is not as concerning as the vomiting. I would recommend you hold her off food for 8 hours to give her GI tract a rest. If after 8 hours there is no more vomiting, then you can start feeding her. Small feedings of her regular diet every few hours for a couple days. You can also add in probiotic (one made for dogs, not humans). You can pick up a probiotic at your local Petco or any large pet store. Other than the probiotic do not give any medications. That is a tough call. If he vomited, he may have an underlying gastrointestinal disease that needs to be addressed. If the vomiting continues and he becomes a "picky" eater, I would encourage you to follow up with his veterinarian for an evaluation.

Poor guy. You could try some anatacids. Call your vet to get a dosage since they have seen Hughir and are legally ok to provide the dosage for you. THe best thing to do here though is to let his stomach settle by fasting him for 12 hrs and then slowly introduce small portions of plain boiled chicken or lean ground turkey and white rice for the next few days. Sometimes with a sour stomach it isn't necessarily bad to allow the pet to make themselves vomit a few times to get whatever upset them out of their system. I do hope that Hughir feels better soon! If the vomiting continues then its best to have your vet take a look at him. He likely will need anti-nausea medication to stop the vomiting episodes and get him back on track. With his history of kidney disease, your vet may even just allow you to come by and pick up the medication without having to schedule an appt. Its worth a shot! Best of luck moving forward. Poor Benji! If he's only vomited once or twice, it is best to keep an eye on him. You can also offer a bland meal of boiled rice and chicken to help settle any minor GI upset. Small breeds are more prone to issues such as hypoglycemia, so making sure Benji is fed several smaller meals throughout the day instead of larger ones may help, and may also decrease vomiting so he isn't eating too much all in one meal. If he continues to vomit, or shows other signs of illness in addition to it, a vet visit is best to rule out other issues such as illnesses, parasites, foreign body ingestion, etc that can also cause vomiting.

I think that sounds fine! There is always a fair bit of trial and error in managing inflammatory bowel disease. Every dog is a little different, and we always strive to get the symptoms under control with what ever combination of meds that work. Omeprazole works to reduce stomach acid, and Metoclopramide works to improve GI motility. Keep talking to your vet, and let them know how the new meds are working. And, if there is any concern about the new food bag, you could always purchase a new bag, in case there is a bad batch. Best of luck!

I would wait a couple of hours before feeding him again. Give his stomach time to calm down. If he doesn't vomit again, give Milo a small amount of food and wait 20-30 minutes. If he doesn't vomit, give him a little more. If he vomits again, I recommend an exam by a vet to determine why he is vomiting. Good luck and kisses to Milo!

It is possible that hard food is causing discomfort in the mouth if he has an infected tooth or an object lodged in between his teeth. It is also possible that the Whole Hearted is making him nauseous due to a dietary indiscretion. I would recommend putting Ceasar on a food such as Science Diet or Royal Canin and see how he does on a different food. If he continues to throw up then I would recommend having a veterinarian examine him so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps!
