My dog keeps vomiting rawhide and won't eat. Is he okay?

The rawhide is probably stuck in his stomach or possibly even worse in his intestines. if by tomorrow he is the same i would strongly recommend taking him ASAP to the vet in order to have an xray done, depending on the location of the rawhide he might need surgery to have it removed.

Withhold food for 12 hours then offer her boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if she is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days. After 2 days, you can put her back gradually on her normal food. If she continues vomiting or is not eating, take her to the vet to get treatment.

Poor guy. You could try some anatacids. Call your vet to get a dosage since they have seen Hughir and are legally ok to provide the dosage for you. THe best thing to do here though is to let his stomach settle by fasting him for 12 hrs and then slowly introduce small portions of plain boiled chicken or lean ground turkey and white rice for the next few days. Sometimes with a sour stomach it isn't necessarily bad to allow the pet to make themselves vomit a few times to get whatever upset them out of their system. I do hope that Hughir feels better soon! If the vomiting continues then its best to have your vet take a look at him. He likely will need anti-nausea medication to stop the vomiting episodes and get him back on track. With his history of kidney disease, your vet may even just allow you to come by and pick up the medication without having to schedule an appt. Its worth a shot! Best of luck moving forward. Hello, sorry to hear about Bailey. Yes ideally she should be examined as this raw hide may have caused irritation and inflammation of her GI tract. Rarely, raw hides may cause intestinal perforations which could lead to even greater complications. Therefore, you should have Bailey evaluated by her veterinarian soon, especially if you note any persistent diarrhea, vomiting, or decreased appetite. Poor Duke! It sounds like he has a couple of things going it. First, it's very concerning that he is vomiting up water and not eating. He could have a severe GI illness, a foreign body, may have eaten something rotten, or could have pancreatitis. The rash could be due to a contact allergy. His symptoms of vomiting water and not eating are serious enough to require immediate medical attention. I would have Duke seen by a vet now to diagnose what is causing his symptoms so he can be treated.

That looks like a partially digested piece of a dental chew. It's hard to say why he threw up this morning. Hopefully he just has a mild stomach upset that will resolve quickly. Sometimes this happens if dogs eat too quickly, eat a new food item or diet, or if they have stomach acid buildup. Other more serious possibilities would be inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis), a bowel obstruction, or an infection. You can continue to monitor him today, but if he continues to vomit or develops other symptoms of illness, it's best to have him evaluated by a vet to make sure it's not a serious problem. A bland diet may help in the meantime.
