My dog vomited for 24 hours, possibly from raccoon poop. Should I go to the vet?

I would suggest to withhold food for the next 8-12 hours and then start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Poor girl. I think at this point (>24 hrs of being ill) because she isn't getting any better you should consider taking her in to your vet. This may just still be a really upset stomach, but she needs to see your vet and have her vitals and physical exam done to determine if she should have further testing done to look for other possible causes (i.e. liver, kidney disease) for her illness. There are a number of potentially very serious causes of such clinical signs, including pancreatistis and ingestion of a toxin or poison. Your vet will be able to perform a physical exam and run diagnostic tests such as bloodwork to determine the cause of Emma's vomiting and diarrhoea. Poor girl. Vomiting more than 1-2 times and lethargy are major concerns for an internal illness such as kidney disease, liver disease, pancreatitis or even a viral infection. It is imperative that you take Baby to your local vet for diagnostic testing to determine what her internal illness is so that we know how to best help her. Anything you give her by mouth will likely be vomited back up, so I would not recommend offering her anything but water and getting her to a vet asap.
