My dog is vomiting, has diarrhea, and won't eat for days. Vet needed?

If Bruno has had diarrhea and decrease appetite for 3 days I would recommend a visit to the vet. A young pup may have parasites, viral disease or a foreign body that can cause diarrhea. But at his age he can become debilitated quickly when sick so a vet visit at this point is probably a good idea. I hope he recovers quickly.

It sounds as Faith is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

Poor Sven sounds pretty sick. I'm concerned he's had diarrhea for two days, and is now vomiting. Anytime a dog has diarrhea for more than 24 hours, it's time to see the vet. Hello, and thanks for your question. If Archer has had symptoms for a few days already, then i'd recommend taking him in to the vet now. He may just need some meds to get his GI tract back on track, but if he may have ingested a foreign body, it's definitely best to have him seen immediately. We have a much better outcome if we can get dogs started with the right medical care before they become really sick! Your vet will likely take x-rays, and depending on the findings they'll talk through the options with you. Sometimes we can treat dogs as outpatients with Gi support, sometimes we encourage hospitalization and pushing IV fluids (if there is foreign material present but we think it might still pass on its own), and sometimes we need to take dogs right to surgery. 4 days is very long for a dog to have vomiting and diarrhea. I recommend that Alexa see a vet as soon as possible. Potential causes for her illness include dietary intolerance, dietary indiscretion, food allergy, intestinal parasites, GI blockage, gastroenteritis, bacterial or viral infection, IBD, pancreatitis, among others. Your vet may recommend abdominal x-rays, bloodwork, or an intestinal parasite screen to help diagnose her ailment and create an appropriate treatment plan.

Poor Louie! I'm sorry to hear that he's sick. My general rule of thumb with vomiting and not eating much is that if it goes on for more than 24 hours, a vet visit is warranted. So if this has been going on for three days now, I would really recommend having him seen by a veterinarian today rather than continuing to try and manage at home, since I would be concerned that he has something more serious going on than a simple upset stomach. If you're not able to get him in to an emergency clinic today, then it's probably best to continue offering small amounts of something bland such as plain boiled chicken every few hours until you are able to see the vet. But I would focus on finding a way to have him seen as soon as possible.
