My dog is vomiting and won't eat after a salmonella food recall. Vet?

If Shieyah is vomiting and not stopping I would recommend a veterinarian. They can provide a medication to stop the vomiting and make sure it is nothing to be concerned about, like pancreatitis or even a foreign body. If she vomited once. I would withhold food for about 6 hours and rec small multiple meals of boiled chicken and white rice or a prescription bland diet. If she gets worse after this then she needs to see a veterinarian. Yes I recommend to take Ruby in to be seen by her veterinarian. When pets are sick for 24 hours and not eating well, it’s best to play it safe and have her checked out. There are many causes for not feeling well. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

If Lexus continues to vomit or starts to have diarrhea in the next 24-48 hours I would bring her in to see your veterinarian as she may benefit from anti-nausea medication, fluids, anti-diarrheal antibiotics and a prescription intestinal diet. If she continues to act normally with a normal activity level, normal frequent of stool and no vomiting/diarrhea, you are likely in the clear! Good luck!

If Autumn is attempting to vomit without producing anything I’d recommend seeing an emergency veterinarian right away. This can be a sign of gastric dilation and volvulus (GDV) also known as bloat which is a life threatening emergency. While it would be unusual for a dog as young as Autumn to develop GDV her breed is predisposed, and it would be safest to see a vet. They can take an x-ray which would diagnose the disease or look for an obstruction - if she doesn’t have this problem they can prescribe medication that could help with nausea.

However if she continues to vomit, or isn't eating at all after 48 hours she may need some fluid therapy. I would recommend contacting her vet tomorrow if she still isn't eating. If she vomits anymore tonight or seems to feel worse then she may need to go to an emergency clinic tonight.

It sounds like poor Henneha is very sick, and you've done the right thing by having her seen by a vet. I'm wondering if she is fully vaccinated, and if she's not, it could be that she has parvovirus. That is very serious, and it would make a dog quite sick. You can try giving her Nutri-cal, available over the counter perhaps at your local pet store, and you can offer her small amounts of Pediasure using a syringe or small turkey baster.
