My husky is vomiting, won't eat, and hasn't pooped. What should I do?

I'm sorry Lucky isn't feeling well. If this has been going on for more than 1 day, then he should be seen by his veterinarian. There are too many causes to list that can make a dog vomit and not eat, but many can be serious. Panting in dogs is often a sign of pain or discomfort. When you take Lucky to the vet, be ready to answer questions about his regular diet, if he has eaten anything abnormal lately, does he chew on items, exposure to poisons or chemicals. As much information as you know about these things can help your vet narrow down possible causes for Lucky's illness. Poor Medusa! Just like humans, there are many many causes of vomiting and some of the causes can be very serious. The blood in the stool is concerning for a more serious cause of illness. I recommend to have Medusa examined today by the veterinarian. Dogs can vomit due to many conditions from stress, to ingestion of a foreign body or toxin, eating too quickly, intestinal parasites, or viral infections. If Onyx is acting normally, you can continue to monitor her at home. I recommend holding off food and treats until tomorrow morning, and then giving her only about 1/2 of her normal portion. She should have access to small amounts of water to prevent her from drinking too quickly and causing herself to vomit. She should be seen by a vet as soon as possible if you notice that she doesn't have an appetite or energy, or begins having diarrhea. I hope this helps and that Onyx feels better soon!

Hi there and thank you for posting! If you have tried the bland diet and Pepto Bismol with no resolution to the diarrhea, I would see your veterinarian for further diagnostics and treatment. I would also bring stool samples with you so that your vet can check for intestinal parasites. This may be a dietary indiscretion that just needs a bit more treatment to resolve or something infectious such as an intestinal parasites.
