My dog threw up grass, now coughing and low energy. Should I worry?

He may also have some grass or another foreign object lodged in his esophagus. I would recommend having a veterinarian take a look at Chuck so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. Lethargy (weakness and not moving/being lazy) for 3 days, and vomiting up something from a few days ago (if you don't have grass, when did she last access grass?) is very concerning for either an obstruction or blockage of the gut, or a severe gastritis. Also, since Chihuahuas are so small, they get dehydrated very quickly and can get very very sick just from dehydration. I would recommend going to your vet right away. They will likely do bloodwork and x-rays and will let you know if Lucy needs to stay in hospital for IV fluids, and possible surgery. Best of luck with Lucy, I hope she feels better soon!

I would give it a few minutes to see if it settles down. But if he continues to drool or cough Lou may have a foreign body stuck in the back of his mouth or his throat, and I would recommend a veterinary visit today. If it seems to go away then it may have just been transient, or a small piece of grass or something he's able to dislodge on his own. Sonetimes dogs get a bit of a tummy upset called gastritis. It can be caused by eating something rancid or an infection. Sometimes they simply have too much acid. Eating grass is a sign the tummy is sore. He will likely be a little unsettled but if he is not continually vomiting I would let him rest overnight then take him to the vet in the morning g if he is still poorly. Don't feed anything At the moment.

Bloody vomitus is concerning. It can indicate a gastric ulcer or a very inflamed stomach wall. Since she has just had the one episode you can keep an eye on her for now. However, if the bloody vomit continues (like more than 3 times tonight), then I would recommend taking her to the ER. Do not feed her any more tonight and let her have small amounts of water if she can keep it down. If she is not back to herself in the next 24 hours then I would recommend taking her in to your regular vet tomorrow to be checked out.

This could indicate a mild case of stomach irritation called gastritis. Dogs have no need for chlorophyll. If she's eating a balanced commercial diet and absorbing it Chloe should be getting all the vitamins and minerals and needs. As long as Chloe is eating, drinking and acting normally you could watch her dog now. But if she stops eating, vomits blood or coffee-ground looking material, or seems painful she should get checked out by her veterinarian

Poor Snow. She could have a respiratory infection causing the coughing and she may have coughed so hard she vomited. Given that this has been going on for three days, it's time to see the vet. The vet can diagnose what is causing her cough and can treat her. I'd take her into a vet today. I hope this helps!
