My dog vomited clear liquid with grass. Should I call the vet now?

However, if the bloody vomit continues (like more than 3 times tonight), then I would recommend taking her to the ER. Do not feed her any more tonight and let her have small amounts of water if she can keep it down. If she is not back to herself in the next 24 hours then I would recommend taking her in to your regular vet tomorrow to be checked out.

There could be many things that are causing this in Loki. Less likely a foreign body especially since he bounces back right after vomiting. It can be viral related or just a gastrointestinal upset. We always are concerned about Parvo in an unvaccinated puppy since he is only 9 weeks but this is less likely if he is energetic and has no diarrhea. He can always have intestinal parasites especially in a young puppy. I would recommend a stool check, deworming, a bland diet and an antacid as long as everything else is ok. Hopefully, it is just dietary indiscretion but I am always concerned for intestinal obstruction in young dogs with projectile vomiting. If the vomiting continues follow up with your veterinarian to discuss abdominal x-rays.
