Dog vomiting foamy bile after tick removal. What should I do?

Poor girl. Certainly tick borne disease can cause vomiting a couple weeks after exposure, but a month seems to be a bit prolonged. Also you would typically see other symptoms too such as limping, low grade fever and a decreased appetite. Other potential causes of vomiting are: stomach upset due to a change in diet, eating something she shouldn’t have, acid reflux disease, or even inflammatory bowel disease just to name a few. if he vomiting continues for more than a day or two, or if she has any more symptoms that you didn’t mention here, then this best to take her in for a complete examination to ensure she is ok. Oh my. It sounds like your pet may be suffering from a tick borne septic arthritis or something similar. Ticks can cause all sorts of internal problems for pets, including damaging the joints and causing low grade fevers and nausea. I would highly advise getting your pets seen by your local vet right away for much needed antibiotics and blood testing to confirm that tick borne disease is present. This will help let us know what other treatments they need to hopefully get better. I would take them in as soon as possible and also get them on a high quality flea/tick preventative such as Simparica, Firstshield, Nexgard or Bravecto. Best of luck with your pets. Typically signs of Lyme disease include a loss of appetite, fever, reduced energy, lameness, stiffness, and swelling of the joints. It's not typically vomiting, but it could be another tick borne disease. I'm concerned about him, and I think it's best he sees a vet now asap. I would take him into one first thing in the morning. If you think Puggy may be having a reaction to the tick treatment, give her another bath washing with a mild detergent type soap such as Dawn dish detergent. This will help remove any residual insecticide from her coat. If she continues to show weakness and vomiting she should be evaluated by a veterinarian.

Hello there! I am very concerned about Sammy. A dog of this age collapsing could indicate an age-related issue like arthritis, but it could also indicate something more sinister, like cancer. I strongly recommend that you check the color of Sammy's gums to be sure that they are pink and moist. A pale color to the gums could mean that Sammy is bleeding somewhere internally, and could have caused the collapse and heavy breathing. This would warrant an immediate trip to an emergency veterinary hospital. If he's nice and pink, it can probably wait until tomorrow, seeing as Sammy is acting normal and eating/drinking well. One incidence of vomiting is usually not something to worry about, but it could be an additional symptom of something else going on. Ticks can transmit diseases that cause these symptoms (such as lyme or rocky mountain spotted fever), so these should be assessed by your vet when you visit. I strongly suggest making an appointment tomorrow if possible. I would expect that they will take some blood, and potentially perform an x-ray (along with a complete physical exam). Doxycycline is an antibiotic that can cause GI upset. I recommend giving it with food to minimize nausea. If the vomiting persists, it could be related to Emma's medical issues, and I would recommend that you discuss it with your vet.

It could be the Tablet (is it Bravecto by any chance?) i have seen it happening before. withhold food for 12 hours then offer him boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if he is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days. After 2 days, you can put him back gradually on his normal food. If he continues vomiting or is not eating, take him to the vet to get treatment.
