Pug vomiting, not drinking, dragging legs after vet. What now?

Poor Rocco! Your vet could do a barium study, abdominal ultrasound, endoscopy, and/or exploratory surgery to help determine the cause of the vomiting. It is very concerning that the anti-vomiting injections are not helping. If your vet is not able to diagnose and treat then you could take him to a veterinary specialist for more advanced diagnostics. Hope he gets better soon!

I am very sorry to hear about your puppy, it sounds like he is getting progressively worse so he definitely needs some additional testing/diagnostics. I cannot tell from your question whether he had x-rays or they just recommended them, but he definitely needs some x-rays and bloodwork at this point, and potentially an ultrasound of the abdomen depending on their findings. Poor Frank! This vomiting and diarrhea could be caused by a severe GI illness, eating something rotten, or a foreign body. Lethargy would be an accompaniment of being this ill, while his back legs could be sore from having to squat so frequently to have diarrhea. I would try a home remedy first, but if he still has the same symptoms in the morning, I would take him into the vet for an exam. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If his symptoms worsen in the night, I would take him into an ER vet right away.

There are a number of potential causes of such clinical signs, including dietary indiscretion, pancreatitis, forgein body obstruction, parasite infestation, infection, and ingestion of a toxin or poison. Because you have only noticed these signs over the course of a few hours I would continue to monitor Puffy at home. Rest Puffy's gastrointestinal tract by holding back food for a few hours. Then you can continue with a bland and easily digested food of the boiled chicken breast and white rice diet and provide plenty of fresh water. If Puffy does not improve, has nonstop vomiting or diarrhoea, you notice fresh blood, Puffy seems lethargic, in pain or depressed I would advise a trip to the veterinarian immediately. I’m so sorry to hear that this is going on with Fisher. It sounds as if your veterinarian has covered all the usual things that can cause vomiting and anorexia. At this point it may be wise to seek a second opinion from an internal medicine specialist or seek out further diagnostics such as an ultrasound. If Fisher does have pancreatitis, it can be a very painful condition. It oftentimes takes several days of medication (for nausea and pain) and sometimes hospitalization with fluids and a feeding tube to get these patients eating again. I cannot recommend giving Snoopy that, I can't say it's safe without seeing him in person. Keep a very close eye on him, withhold food for now, give the pedialyte in small amounts, and get him into a vet as soon as they open.

Dogs that have been vomiting and not eating well won't have much stool to produce. However, I am a little concerned that Finley vomited after receiving the antiemetic shot and that he was gagging after the water. Whenever a dog that has received Cerenia continues to be nauseous or has a poor appetite, then it leaves me concerned about a possible GI foreign body or obstruction. If he continues to do this for another 12-24 hours or does not produce a bowel movement in 24 hours, then I would recommend that Finley be re-evaluated for a possible obstruction. The vet may recommend x-rays or an ultrasound to see if this is a possibility.
