Could my dog's vomiting and diarrhea be a blockage from weeks ago?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 8 years and 2 months old | 20 lbs

Hello, two weeks ago, my dog ate some things I was afraid might cause a blockage. he has had no symptoms until a couple of days ago I noticed very small vomit stains here and there. I never saw it happen until yesterday when he vomited a small amount of liquid several times. He has been eating and drinking and eliminating fine, although this morning he had a small amount of diarrhea. Is it likely this is caused from a blockage since it has been so long?

It is possible to be related if it is a partial blockage in the stomach and it is floating around. But it may be unrelated as he could have a viral/bacterial infection that can cause similar symptoms. If the vomiting persist or bloody diarrhea occurs, then bring him to your vet for blood work and x rays to make sure.
