My dog is vomiting brown foamy liquid. What's the cause? Is it serious?

My dog is vomiting brown liquid with foam in it, what can be the reason ? I'm worried plz help

Vomiting, unfortunately, can be caused by a laundry list of different reasons. Tyler being a young Labrador makes me very suspicious that he may have ingested something he shouldn't have. Frequent, foul smelling, brown vomit is very concerning for an obstruction somewhere along the gastrointestinal tract.

I highly recommend having Tyler seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible for x-rays of his belly to rule in or out obstruction, which can be life threatening if not treated sooner rather than later. The vet may also recommend other diagnostics and/or medications to help stop the vomiting and make Tyler more comfortable. The sooner you can get him seen the better for all parties involved. Hopefully, the reason for Tyler vomiting is not obstruction and he can be medically managed, but better to know and ahead of the game by taking him in to see the vet.

Vomiting is a very vague sign and could indicate several different things going on. Some of the more common causes of vomiting include intestinal parasites, gastritis (inflammation of the stomach wall), pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, or a foreign body/blockage. Parvovirus would be a concern since Tyler is so young if he has not had all his vaccines. Since Tyler has been so sick I would recommend taking him to the vet. He may be dehydrated and need fluids as well as some antinausea medication to help stop the vomiting. Your vet may also recommend blood work and X-rays depending on what they discover on the physical exam.

If your veterinarian cannot find any obvious cause, you may try changing the diet. You have a few options such as a low residue diet like Royal Canin high energy puppy. You may also try a hydrolyzed diet such as Royal Canin hydrolyzed protein. He will need to eat this diet for 4 weeks and during that time, he cannot eat anything else. You may also look into a treatment for protozoal parasites. Best of luck.

Vomiting is a very common symptom in animals and can be caused by something going on with the GI tract or any other organ system. If the tubular structure is grass it is possible he vomited that up after eating a large amount of it or if he previously ate something and defecated it out. Sometimes pets can vomit after straining to defecate as well. One of the main concerns with vomiting in animals is foreign body obstruction, which can be an emergency. The character of that vomit is concerning. The best plan would be for him to see your vet for an exam. Bloodwork to rule out extra GI causes and xrays are likely to be recommended as the first steps. My dog is vomiting yellow liquid and froth for 2 days. What's wrong?

Poor Jasper! Vomiting can have a wide array of causes, but in a younger dog, a foreign body obstruction/blockage, stomach upset form eating inappropriate food, viruses, or parasites are among the more common culprits. Since Jasper has been vomiting a good bit for the past 2 days, he should be examined by his vet today. If there is even a possible suspicion that he may have eating something that he shouldn't have, he will need abdominal x-rays to determine if a foreign body intestinal obstruction is suspected. Jasper may also need to have blood testing (CBC, chemistry, cPL) or fecal testing. Do not feed Jasper until he has seen his vet today for an exam.

The sleeping and standing in abnormal ways is indicative of significant abdominal pain. Brown vomit is concerning for a GI obstruction or serious pancreatitis. I would recommend that Chato get checked out by a vet ASAP. After examination, the vet may recommend blood work and/or x-rays to determine what is the cause so they can discuss an appropriate treatment protocol.

Poor Bear! This could indicate bleeding within his G.I. tract. That could be caused by also's, toxins, some cancers as well as infections. Because bleeding in the G.I. tract can cause severe anemia and even death I recommend Bear be examined by his veterinarian or emergency veterinarian tonight. Do not offer him any food or water or any human medications until he is examined by his veterinarian. You should monitor his gums for paleness as well as his abdomen for any pain or distention.

They may recommend bloodwork and xrays to determine what is causing his symptoms.
