My dog keeps throwing up brown, then clear foam. Is it serious?

Hi, I’m trying to figure out what’s wrong with my dog, he’s up to date with shots but since 4 this morning he’s been throwing up nonstop it was first all brown and mushy but now it’s either clear or foamy

Loki could have a severe GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, could have a foreign body, or could have pancreatitis. Given that he has been vomiting all day, the time for home remedies has passed and he needs to see a vet now. Please take him into an ER vet right away.

Poor Loki! I can give you a home remedy for him to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. Hi, and thanks for your question.
As a first approach, I would suggest to withhold food for the next 8-12 hours and then start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days.
I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, more vomiting or attempt to (even tonight), lethargy or inappetence.

My dog is vomiting brown foamy liquid. What's the cause? Is it serious?

Vomiting, unfortunately, can be caused by a laundry list of different reasons. Tyler being a young Labrador makes me very suspicious that he may have ingested something he shouldn't have. Frequent, foul smelling, brown vomit is very concerning for an obstruction somewhere along the gastrointestinal tract. I highly recommend having Tyler seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible for x-rays of his belly to rule in or out obstruction, which can be life threatening if not treated sooner rather than later. The vet may also recommend other diagnostics and/or medications to help stop the vomiting and make Tyler more comfortable. The sooner you can get him seen the better for all parties involved. Hopefully, the reason for Tyler vomiting is not obstruction and he can be medically managed, but better to know and ahead of the game by taking him in to see the vet.

It sounds as Blue is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

My dog is throwing up pink frothy vomit. Should I take him to the vet?

It could be, the pink tinge might be blood, indicating that he has swallowed something that injured his throat or stomach or he has vomited so much his esophagus is irritated enough to bleed. Either way, I strongly recommend getting him in to see a vet right away, especially if the vomiting has been going on for some time.
