My dog had Cerenia. Can they still vomit, and how long will it last?

These are not side effects of the medications, these are symptoms related directly to the medical condition that caused the vomiting in the first place. if by tomorrow you see no improvement you will need to take her back to the vet.

Sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with Jorja. I am going to go out on a limb and assume the anti nausea medication provided was Cerenia. This is typically a very effective medication for vomiting, and if there is still vomiting in the face of this, I would definitely recommend getting her back into the vet for re-examination. I would strongly recommend x-rays and blood work. Depending on the level of dehydration, hospitalization with IV fluids would likely be useful particularly if the vomiting is going to continue. Cerenia is a drug called maropitant, it is very effective but unfortunately it is very stingy on injection. I imagine this has scared him a little, but if he seems out of sorts for an extended time I would consider going back.

If she is eating and has not developed any new symptoms, then I would continue to monitor her. If she is not acting more normal by morning, then I would contact her veterinarian. Hello. This may have been a vaccine reaction & the Cerenia should have helped. However, we do sometimes need addition anti-nausea medication to get over some of these acute episodes. Often, I will also use Ondansetron if the vomiting persists even with additional use of the Cerenia. Of course, there could be some secondary issue going on & the timing of the vaccinations may have been coincidental. If Jojo continues to vomit, she may need additional Cerenia, & possible some fluids until her body heals. Make sure you stay in touch with your vet in case she does need additional treatment. The injection is called Cerenia, if this didn't help then you must take him back to the vet for a blood test and xray/ulrasound, he might be suffering from either a foreign body in the GI tract or severe gastrointestinal infection.
