My puppy vomited grubs. Are they parasitic worms or just food?

From the picture it it looks like some type of maggot. I am suspicious that he probably ate this and that it isn’t a parasite. However, if vomiting continues he should be evaluated by your veterinarian. Also taking in a fresh poop sample to look for intestinal parasite eggs. That does not look like a normal intestinal worm. Intestinal worms are white or light yellow. I suspect this is something he ate. Wrap it up in a baggie and take it to be examined by your veterinarian. To be safe, have the store checked for worms since some rooms can be spread to humans. Oh no, poor Vegas! Worms that resemble maggots, or grains of rice, are most commonly tapeworm segments. These can be acquired by ingesting either rodents or fleas infected with tapeworms. It would be ideal to take Vegas to her vet for an exam and stool sample analysis to more precisely determine the cause of these worms. However, since she is acting normally and has not had further vomiting, you can consider deworming her with over the counter deworming medication containing praziquantel. Also be sure that she is receiving a high quality flea preventative regularly, such as Nexgard, Bravecto, or K9 Advantix II. I hope this helps and that all goes well!

I agree that it is likely vomit and not poop. The Long object could be a worm, but also resembles a plant stem to me. Since she was eating grass I suspect she could have also been consuming other plant materials. I would, however, recommend that you take a poop sample to your veterinarian to have it tested for parasite eggs to make sure that she doesn’t need any medications. However, in puppies, vomiting can be caused by parasites and dangerous viral infections. I recommend keeping an eye on Ciroc for continued vomiting, loss of energy/appetite, and diarrhea. It is difficult to tell from your description what this may be. It could be something Roxy ingested and threw back up. If she is on monthly parasite prevention then she may be protected against most intestinal parasites. If not it could be a number of things and not all dewormers are effective on all parasites. I would recommend having an intestinal parasite test or fecal done on a stool sample by her vet. This can indicate what types, if any parasites she may have. The worms in Herbie's vomit indicate he does have intestinal worms. You often don't see worms in the poop unless there is a very heavy infestation of them. The eggs are what are deposited in the feces, and those can only be seen with a microscope. Herbie needs a deworming treatment, and I recommend Panacur which you can get OTC. He will need another deworming treatment two weeks after the first to kill all the worms, and then will need one once a month until he is six months old. After that, he will need a deworming treatment every three months.
