My dog vomited after a dental chew. Is panting and shaking normal?

That looks like a partially digested piece of a dental chew. It's hard to say why he threw up this morning. Hopefully he just has a mild stomach upset that will resolve quickly. However with other painkillers such as metacam etc then it wouldn't be so common. Secondly, a dog can always have an allergic reaction to any medication so if this is a medication she has never had before I would consider calling your vet for advice if her condition does not improve. Finally, there is always a possibility that something else is going on. I would double check that you gave the correct dose of medicine, and if not and you overdosed ring your vet immediately for advice or to be seen. If she continues to deteriorate I would take her into the vet in case she is having a medication reaction or it could be that her original condition is getting worse or developing. But most importantly try not to panic for now, monitor her in a calm and comfy environment. Shaking can be incredibly common with many pain killers and they can also cause drooling and odd behaviour. Differentials are many, from gastrointestinal diseases (infection/inflammations often dietary related) to any disease that can spread systemically (causing lethargy for example) like infection, and anything that can cause pain/discomfort. Any pet vomiting beyond 24 hours should be examined by the veterinarian. Any pet who is vomiting more than twice in a day or not holding down water also needs to be examined by the veterinarian. I am concerned that the shaking you are seeing indicates abdominal pain which is very worrisome for an intestinal blockage or pancreatitis. I recommend to have Pantufla examined today. If only Reign could talk! I am concerned that whatever was making him sick is still continuing. I recommend to offer the bland diet of chicken and rice again. I also recommend to call your veterinarian to figure out your options. Your vet likely has COVID protocols in place to protect themselves and the staff. Continued issues could mean many things that could range from parasites (including giardia) to a foreign object blocking the outflow tract in his stomach. It may be from the excitement of getting a chew that gets him worked up. Being overweight can contribute to it. As long as he can calm down and breathing normally and easily when this is gone and this does not occur all the time, then I would not be worried
