My dog is throwing up, shaking, and not eating. When to see a vet?

I would recommend taking Pups to the vet. These symptoms are very concerning, and probably not related to her mammary nodule. It could be dietary intolerance or indiscretion, food allergy, intestinal parasites, GI blockage, gastroenteritis, bacterial or viral infection, IBD, pancreatitis, among others. The straining and liquid is likely severe diarrhea - similar to humans, you can strain with diarrhea and have nothing come out. The vet will do a thorough exam and may recommend blood work or x-rays to determine what is going on.

I would recommend having him seen by a vet right away - he/she can palpate his belly to check for any abnormalities, and may also need to do blood work and x-rays to determine the problem. She may have become quite dehydrated from vomiting and having diarrhea. Your vet can replenish the fluid that she has lost with IV fluids or fluids under her skin. I would also want to know why she started having the vomiting and diarrhea in the first place. I would also recommend she have blood work run to ensure nothing systemic is wrong with her. Pancreatitis can show these symptoms and can cause quite a bit of discomfort in animals that are affected by it. There are blood tests that can be performed to confirm pancreatitis and your vet can surely check for this. X-rays might not be a bad idea to rule out an obstruction in the GI tract as a possible cause as well. Hello. If this has been ongoing for several hours & she has vomited multiple times, then I would consider having Kreacher seen by your veterinarian tonight or as soon as possible tomorrow. The biggest concern is dehydration, so you can try to give her a couple of teaspoons of water or broth every hour or so. If she feels like drinking, but vomits afterwards, replace her water with ice cubes to lick on. Absolutely no food until tomorrow. It sounds as your pet is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet urgently, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. . if the vet thinks it is more serious he will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

Vomiting and lack of appetite could be signs of a problem within the GI tract, such as ingestion of foreign material or garbage, or possibly a sign of an infectious disease. It could also be a sign of a problem outside the GI tract such as liver/kidney disease or pancreatitis. As Stuart is still a young puppy with any vomiting or lack of appetite they can have a challenging time maintaining their blood sugar and temperature so I would strongly urge you to have him seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible. Yes, it sounds like Wonder is painful (shaking), and not herself due to the vomiting. She may also have a fever which could make her lethargic. She is a young dog so most likely she has a stomach upset from something she ate. If she can't hold anything down you should take her to your veterinarian for treatment. She could have eaten something bad, or have something caught in her stomach or intestines. They will do an exam then most likely blood work and an X-ray if needed to find the specific reason she is sick. Then they can prescribe the appropriate treatment. This is a fairly common reason dogs get sick and usually they improve quickly.
