My dog vomited after Bravecto. Is it a side effect? Do I need to redose?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | neutered | 5 years and 7 months old | 13.5 lbs

We gave my chihuahua Bravecto last night around 7pm and this morning, we found that he vomited. I just wanted to know whether vomiting is one of side-effects of the pill and whether we need to redose him.

Hello. If the Bravecto stayed down for at least 30 minutes, then it was probably fully absorbed. Also, if there was no evidence of the pill in the vomit, then I would not re-dose Toro. Any medication can cause a pet to vomit, & it does not mean that he will vomit with his next dose. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
