My dog got Zoetis Vanguard Da2Pi. What diseases does it prevent?

DA2HPP is the acronym for: Distemper, Advenovirus 2 & Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus, These are the viruses your dog would be vaccinated against. There is no vaccination for fleas and ticks. You can get spot ons for this such as Advantix, Advantage II, or a Bravecto or Nexgard chew. There are also collars like Seresto available.

This is a core vaccine that includes distemper, parvo, along with other viruses depending on the company it was bought from. These viruses are common in the US and this vaccine works really well. It is recommended to give a series of this vaccine as a puppy and then once a year after that. Some clinics do have a three year distemper/parvo vaccine so they only have to receive if every 3 years. Yes, the distemper/parvo (DHPP) combination vaccinations that we use in puppies are the same as those we use in adults, but some of the ingredients in some of the combination vaccinations are not given until the puppies are older. I would recommend speaking to your veterinarian about which viruses should be included in puppies vaccinations, but they are generally canine distemper, infectious hepatitis, parainfluenza and parvovirus. The answer to which vaccinations your dog needs depends on her age and her individual risk factors. Those vaccines are considered Core vaccinations. Any other vaccinations are considered Non-Core and are only recommended for dogs that are at risk of contracting those diseases. Even if she was not due for it this year, she will most likely be just fine and this is not necessarily a big concern. Megavac p protects against parvovirus, while megavac d protects against distemper. Both are serious and deadly diseases that you want to protect Lucky from, so speak to your vet to give him a combination shot to protect him against both. I hope this helps!

Hi there. Unfortunately the vaccine label picture is very blurry and difficult to see. However, the typical 5 in 1 / DHPP vaccine is the vaccine for canine distemper , hepatitis, parainfluenza, and parvovirus. As best as I can tell she had the appropriate vaccine at 8 weeks of age and should have it again now at 12 weeks. It is also recommended to booster again at 16 weeks. Good luck with your pup!
