My dog is unsteady. Could it be an ear infection? What are the signs?

Sumo has been a little unsteady on his legs recently his appetite is good and he still loves to go out for walks i have been giving him glucosamine tablets in case he is suffering from arthritis, could he have an ear infection and how could I tell

Hi there. You should definitely be able to look at Sumo's ears to see if he has any signs of an ear infection - these would include redness, a foul odor, and usually some type of discharge or "gunk" in the ear. If his ears are clean, not overly red, and don't smell bad, then you can be pretty certain that there is no infection :)
